++++++++++++++++++++++++++++Tommie Lee Martin, age 2, born April 2, 2008 passed Feb. 19, 2010. *****************************************
As quick as a flash Tommie Lee would dart across the room in a gray blur chasing toy mice all along bringing so much joy to our home that it will take a lifetime to erase his memory from our hearts. I'll never forget the day I received the call from a distressed family friend asking me to relieve her of a rambunctious tabby for which she could no longer care. On that day, the Martin family added one to its number as Tommie Lee Martin was welcomed into our home. In no time, the lovable and kissable kitty found a comfortable spot among us as we sat to watch television with all four legs stretched to much like we humans do when we do when we find that sweet spot on the sofa. A natural ham for the cameras, Tommie Lee starred in online videos for the DignityPet Mortuary service and can be seen in a WYFF News 4 segment celebrating the grand opening of our mortuary. I'll never forget how he would sun himself for hours along the window ledge while lazily watching cars drive up and down the street. Dinnertime was always the highlight of Tommie Lee's day! He had an insatiable appetite for anything edible-up to and including mice, grasshoppers and ants! Much like all cats tend to be, Tommie took his time warming up to those he didn't know, but once he sensed that he could trust you, then, you were a friend for life. And he showed it by the way he would allow you to stroke his soft and fluffy fur. Or the way he would quietly walk up behind you and begin to make that familiar rattling purr when you stroked his neck and back. Our lives were indeed enriched by your presence, Tommie Lee. Even though your journey through this life was brief, we know it was not in vain because you made us better people by allowing us to be a part of your world. You also made fast friends with the neighborhood pets. Once you arrived at our home it wasn't long before you found the love of your life in Snowball. Sadly, you abruptly left us while you were making your customary jaunt across the street to visit your best girl.. In an instant, you sprouted pet angel's wings and went to your Heavenly reward. yes Tommie Lee Martin, you left this earth much too soon. But your spirit will remain with us until we meet again, dear friend. We will always miss our crazy Maine Coon.
Love you Always,
Mommie, Jessica, Kimmy and Ryan
